SOLUTION OF NATRIUM CHLORIDE isotonic 0,9% for injections (Solutio Natrii chloridi isotonica 0,9 % pro injectionibus)

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTY 0,9% solution of natrium chloride is isotonic to blood plasm of human: natrium chloride which comes in necessary quantities with food, is situated in blood and  in texture liquids, which is why the stability of  ®á¬®â¨ç®£® blood pressure and   intercellular liquid is kept.
While deficiency of natrium and chloride as consequence of heavy elimination, after long-term diarrhea, great burns, continuous emesis, hyperfunction of cortex of adrenal gland and other pathologic conditions, solidification of blood because of transit of water into texture out of blood. While heavy deficiency spasms of anstriated and analstasis skeletal muskulature, different disfunctions of cardiovascular and nervous system. Isotonic solution of natrium chloride enriches volume of blood stream if it decreases, normalizes (renews) ionic balance. Has desintoxication effect. Irritative action at different ways of injection and application is absent.
Isotonic solution of natrium chloride is also used as dissolvent of medicaments.

INDICATION TO ADMINISTRATION Isotonic solution of natrium is prescribed (intravenous injections) while toxical dyspepsia, continuous emisis, cholera, intoxications, heavy loss of blood, shock, in after-surgery period. Applied  (externally) while different diseases of eyes, nose, muscous coats, for bathing of wound.

ROUT Isotonic solution of natrium chloride is injected intravenously, subdermaly, per rectum (clysters). Sterile solution is usually injected dropwise from 5-10 ml to 2 l. While cholera, after-operation condition, toxic dyspepsia its volume may constitute 3 l per 24 hours. At subderm injections volume of solution differs depending on indications.
Per rectum is injected 75-100 ml. For eye, nose and wounds bathing sterile solution is used.

SPECIFICS OF ADMINISTRATION As a consequence of quick excretion of isotonic solution of natrium chloride from bloodstream, which means temporary decreasing of volume of circulating liquid in vessels, at shock states and blood-loss for compensation of insufficient effectiveness of the preparation, it is necessary to make transfusion, transfuse plasma and plasma-substitutes. At long-lasting infusions especially in large amounts, amount of electrolytes in the plasma and in urine must be under control.

SIDE EFFECT In large amounts may cause chloride acidosis, increased elimination of kalium (kaliopenia), hyperhydration. At such complications the preparation should be canceled.

CONTRAINDICATION Intravenous infusion is contraindicated at thrombophlebitis, states with increased hemopexis in the form of disease of nephros, at decompensated handicap of heart. Isotonic solution of natrium chloride should not be infused at circulative distractions which can cause pulmonary edema and brain edema, at hypernatremia, consumption of corticosteroids in large doses. The preparation is infused with carefulness at distractions of excretion function of nephros.

STORAGE CONDITIONS Keep at ambient temperature.
